Dr Jennifer JohnstonDr Jennifer Johnston is a Senior Lecturer and programme leader for The School of Education, College of Social Science

“I undertake research in the areas of science and mathematics education in primary, secondary and in higher education. My PhD research focused on utilising undergraduate pre-service science teachers, on a concurrent degree programme, in a Peer Learning program in undergraduate introductory physics with a particular focus on the student teachers’ conceptual understanding of physics. I am undertaking a study on academic subject specialists’ professional identity to see if the academic subject specialist’s teaching on concurrent undergraduate degree programmes in Ireland identify with being a teacher educator (a teacher of teachers).”
