Dr Rob Vickers joined The University of Lincoln in May 2017 to work on the HEFCE funded NCOP LiNCHigher Project in collaboration with Bishop Grosseteste University.
“I am currently working on the local evaluation for the National Collaborative Outreach Programme (NCOP). The NCOP in Lincolnshire is a consortium of Lincolnshire universities, colleges and schools, called LiNCHigher.
The Programme has the aim of increasing the number of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in higher education (HE) by 2020. To achieve this, LiNCHigher is undertaking outreach activity in geographical areas where the HE participation of young people is both low and much lower than expected based on GCSE-level attainment.
The large-scale evaluation programme I am participating in measures the impact of the programme. It is also building an evidence base to ensure that investment is concentrated in activity that is shown to be the most effective.”
